GLASGOW HERALD – Ten turbulent years have passed since the Maltese-born Scot catapulted himself on to the world stage by taking the race leader’s yellow jersey with a win in an opening time trial at Futuroscope. Catching up with the 33-year-old this week, though, is to encounter a confident and mature presence, comfortable in his own skin, and happy to take ownership of the role of a deluxe domestique at the Garmin-Transitions team which he helped to build.
