H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Inaugurates EIAST’s Workshop On The Applications Of Global Navigation Satellite Systems

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, inaugurated a workshop on the applications of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) hosted by the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) in co-operation with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).

Organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the event is being held until January 20, 2011 at the campus of the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai Academic City,
The objective of the workshop is to strengthen the exchange of information, collaboration and advances in the use of GNSS across a wide range of applications including aviation, marine, roads and highways, rail, space, agriculture, forestry, and natural resource exploration, surveying and mapping, to establish a broad framework for regional and international cooperation. The workshop includes plenary sessions and discussions to identify the priority areas where pilot projects can be launched and examine possible partnerships. Read More
