Glonass at 99%

On February 26 the launch vehicle Soyuz, successfully placed in orbit the new generation GLONASS-K satellite. Today, 26 Glonass satellites are in orbit, with 22 of them currently fully operational. In the third quarter of 2011 there are plans to launch three more satellites. Glonass satellite coverage is currently at 99 percent of the planet and includes an area two thousand kilometers above the Earth. At year’s end coverage will be at 100 percent.
