LE FIGARO – La Compagnie du Vent, a subsidiary of GDF Suez, is to initiate a major project offshore wind farm off the coast of alabaster and Picardy to 14 km offshore Tréport.This ambitious project, which has no equal in Europe, would emerge in the scenario preferred by the client says “Large Project”, a fleet of 140 offshore wind turbines of 5 megawatts (MW) each to generate a total capacity of 700 MW. This project is not only locally, in Normandy and Picardy the environment, but it also has a major national significance. Indeed, following the Grenelle Environment Forum took in the line of the European Directive for Energy and Climate in 2007, France has set a “roadmap” to promote the ambitious renewable energy to reduce emissions substantially greenhouse gas (GHG). It includes, in successive stages, the installation of 25,000 MW of wind power in France by 2020, including 6,000 MW offshore, against 4500 MW in early 2010.  Read More
