Citizens Committee Urges Major Reform of Chile’s Energy Policy

Key recommendations of the Citizen Parliamentary Committee on Energy (CPCE) include expanded commercial openness to improve competition in electricity generation and distribution, and regulation of electricity rates. The committee also proposed two fundamental pillars to guide future energy policy in Chile – energy efficiency and promotion of non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE).
