DEFRA – In the further context of an ongoing review of Defra’s network of public bodies, Spelman explained how and why the Government is changing its approach to driving sustainable development across Government departments and beyond. Defra, with the Department for Energy and Climate Change, will take on full responsibility for sustainability, with Defra’s core funding for the Sustainable Development Commission withdrawn from the end of the 2010/11 financial year.
