Strategic Research Centre on Zero Energy Buildings is awarded the ALECTIA-Prize 2010

  • Rating12345
New ”Strategic Research Centre on Zero Energy Buildings” at Aalborg University last Wednesday received the ALECTIA-Foundation’s prize of 250,000 DKK for their cross-disciplinary research activities to develop future-proof, zero energy concepts for the building industry.

The energy consumption of buildings accounts for 40% of the total energy consumption in Denmark. The building industry therefore plays a central role in the future reduction of fossil fuels and the conversion of the energy supply to renewable energy. This is the reason for the establishment of the Strategic Research Centre on Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB) at AalborgUniversity last year.

In his motivation of this year’s choice of prize winner, the chairman of the ALECTIA-Foundation, Hans Peter Jensen, says: ”We have chosen to present the ALECTIA-Prize to the ZEB research centre as an appreciation of their remarkable work to develop new concepts and solutions through a cross-disciplinary approach, and to create – in cooperation with the industry – the necessary basis for a long-term sustainable development in the building industry. It is an excellent initiative that we are pleased to support”.´ Read More
