UK MPs Under Pressure Over Forestry Plans

Coalition MPs are coming under intense pressure to vote down government plans to dispose of 258,000 hecatres (ha) of English forestry estate. Three Conservative and four Lib Dem MPs rebelled and voted with Labour on Wednesday night in a Commons forestry debate. A further seven coalition MPs abstained and many others spoke but did not vote, suggesting they were unhappy with the proposals. Read More
