PhD course in Nordic Forest Governance

The PhD course in Nordic Forest Governance will be held at SLU Umeå in Sweden November 7-November 11, with a final seminar December 8. The first week will cover lectures and workshops on governance as a theme in systems with very different types of forest owners and interests. It also includes workshops on qualitative and quantitative methods for studying forest governance issues, and a panel session for discussion with stakeholders in forestry. At the final seminar, students will have the opportunity to present their course essays to peers and stakeholders. The course thereby serves both as a theoretical and practical orientation to issues of forest governance in the Nordic countries, and includes lecturers and presentations by stakeholders from several Nordic countries.
