Operating Contract for Galileo Control Oberpfaffenhofen

The European Galileo project is gaining momentum – on 12 November 2010, the DLR Society for Space Applications (GfR) from the Spaceopal GmbH in Munich, the contract for the operation of the Galileo Control Centre received Oberpfaffenhofen. Earlier, the German-Italian joint venture Spaceopal with the European Space Agency ESA in Brussels had concluded a contract for the preparation and the overall operations of 18 Galileo satellites. For this work package now been made a part of the contract to DLR GfR, a wholly owned subsidiary of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The contract is worth around 60 million €.
