New Airport Northeast of Toronto – Not Required Until 2027

Transport Canada published this week a study that determined one additional airport will be needed in central Ontario between 2027 and 2037 and that the federal government should keep land it has owned northeast of Toronto since 1972. Although no specific construction plans have been released, the Pickering Lands Needs Assessment Study, published Monday by the federal government, stated Ottawa will “prepare a federal plan for the Pickering Lands in the coming months.” Read More
