Job: Sustainability Assessment Officer, Wiltshire Council

This is an exciting new post where you’ll have the opportunity to ensure that sustainability is at the heart of Wiltshire Council’s spatial planning processes. Working in a small, friendly team, you’ll ensure that the Council’s Local Development Documents and associated policies meet necessary environmental, social and economic sustainability criteria, through Strategic Environmental Assessment and Sustainability Appraisal, and involvement in Habitat Regulations Assessment.

Committed, confident and enthusiastic you’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent in Strategic Environmental Assessment, Town & Country Planning or similar and will be a full member (or eligible for membership) of a relevant professional institute (e.g. RTPI or IEMA). You’ll also have substantial experience of sustainability assessment related work.

You’ll have excellent report writing as well as written and verbal communication skills, a good knowledge of the UK land-use planning system and good project management skills.
