The Comission on Urban Planning and the City of Kotka warmly invite you to the seminar in Kotka, Finland 3rd – 6th October 2007. The seminar is the general meeting and the second seminar in the year 2007 arranged by the Union of Baltic Cities and its Comission on Urban Planning.
The topic of the seminar will be City Identity.
Cities are competing with each other to be more interesting and more attractive. A city must have an identity of its own. What are the characteristics to be strengthened? How can we make citybranding? What are the facts that make Kotka known? We will have some inspiring lectures on our theme. Workshops will think out places of great importance to be developed in Kotka.
Architects might find interesting Kotka’s architecture and especially the Sunila Paper Factory and housing area designed by Alvar Aalto in the 1930’s and 1950’s.
The seminar programme is preliminary and the final programme together with a registration form will be sent to you in August.
We would be very happy if you confirmed your arrival to Kotka before September 1 2007 when the final invitation and programme has been sent to you. But make an appointment in your agenda already now!
