HPI Receives “Apps4Berlin”

Two groups of students of the Hasso Plattner Institute were at the creative competition “Apps4Berlin” victorious, an initiative of the Senate. With its smart phone application “BEPART” for improved citizen participation in urban planning processes, the HPI bachelor students Martin Büttner, Jonas Gebhardt, Niemeier Luke, Jannik Streek and Nicholas Wittstruck came at number 1 in the category of students. The “App” informs citizens about urban development projects and makes it easy to make comments by phone. The aim is to ensure political and administrative processes more transparent and citizens more closely in the decision-making processes.
