Helsinki Railway Station is to Become Helsinki C

HELSINGIN SANOMAT – Last summer, Viitanen proposed the name change to the Finnish Rail Administration. At present, new blue signs are being installed at the station, with the new name in an abbreviated form: Helsinki C (like centrum or central). Furthermore, the new name will be printed in the timetables, and announcements on trains will no longer say that we are arriving in Helsinki, but in the Helsinki Central Railway Station. ”There are 13 railway stations in the City of Helsinki, but only one is called Helsinki.
