EFI is looking for a FLEGT Facilitator to Vietnam

  • Rating12345

European Forest Institute (EFI) hosts the EU FLEGT Facility, which supports the European Commission, EU Member States and partner countries in the implementation of the EU FLEGT Action Plan. The EU FLEGT Facility is seeking a FLEGT facilitator to support the implementation of the EU FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) process in Vietnam.

VPAs are bilateral agreements between the European Union and timber exporting countries, which aim to guarantee that the wood exported to the EU is from legal sources and to support partner countries in improving their own regulation and governance of the sector.

The focus will lie on providing support to the Government, the EU and stakeholders of Vietnam at each step of the FLEGT VPA process, from organizing consultations, supporting work of both negotiations teams and facilitating at country level all FLEGT related activities. The facilitator will be hired for a two-year term based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Interested candidates are requested to apply online or to send an application letter and CV by 30 June 2011 to Human Resources Office, EFI, email: flegt(at)efi.int.
