Danube River Water Levels Continue to Cause Concern

SOFIA BULGARIA – There is no immediate danger of the Danube River bursting and flooding regions in northern Bulgaria, the Citizens Protection service told the private television channel bTV. Authorities said that the water levels are being surveyed constantly and pre-emptive measures have been taken.Near Silistra in the northeast, the water level is at 681cm, the Bulgarian news agency BTA said. According to the chief secretary of the Silistra municipality, there is no reason for alarm, as the “critical level” for Silistra is 785cm. Read More
