Maltese Kid to be Namesake of Galileo Satellite

  • Rating12345

Thanks to a novel initiative, a Maltese child – and a child from every other EU member state – is to have one of the European Union’s Galileo satellites named after him or her. The European Commission is inviting children aged between nine and 11 to participate in a drawing competition with the subject of ‘Space and Aeronautics’. The winners, one from each EU member state, will have a Galileo Programme satellite named after them. To take part, children must upload a scanned image or a digital photograph of their ‘space and aeronautics’-related drawing at www.galileocontest.eu by not later than 15 November.  Read More
