86,000 People Evacuated from Russia’s Wildfire-hit Regions

ITAR TASS – Russia’s Emergencies Ministry said on Sunday 86,000 people were evacuated from regions hit by wildfires. “At present, the most difficult situation with wildfires remains in the Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir and Voronezh regions and the Republic of Mordovia, where fires threaten several populated settlements,” the Ministry’s information department said. Around 180,000 rescuers of the Emergencies Ministry, 1,000 servicemen of the Interior Ministry and 1,000 servicemen of the Defence Ministry are engaged in the fire-fighting operation. Read More
