No Moratorium on Drilling in Deep Waters in the EU

LE MONDE FRANCE – It is a victory for the United Kingdom. The European Commission suggested the idea of a moratorium on oil drilling in deep waters in the EU, but that was not supported. The Vice-President of the Commission, the British Catherine Ashton (also chief diplomat of the EU), which the country operates numerous oil rigs in the North Sea, played a decisive role in the modification of the proposal the German commissioner, said an EU source familiar with the talks.
