Carbon Capture More Than Just a Pipe Dream

ENERGY ECOSSE UK – For the investors behind a  new, state-of-the-art “clean coal” power station planned for Hunterston in North Ayrshire, carbon capture is a key part of the proposition they are putting forward for planning permission. Muir Miller, project director of Ayrshire Power, says that assuming planning permission for the new power station is granted, the aim is to begin producing power towards the end of 2017, which will be a critical period in the UK’s power generation since a number of older coal-fired stations will cease production around then.
