Namibian statistics Bill Raises Alarm in Civil Society

The Statistics Bill provides the legal framework for the development and establishment of the National Statistics System, which will consist of the Namibia Statistics Agency and the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. According to the proposed legislation, the Namibia Statistics Agency will be the state agency responsible for the design, coordination, production, analysis and dissemination of all state-produced or official statistical data, as well as being the central repository of all data produced in the country by private and international organisations.
