Strong Earthquake in New Zealand

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.6 struck Monday, April 18 the northeast coast of New Zealand, announced the American Institute of Geophysics USGS. The Center for the Pacific tsunami warning issued an alert, but felt that there was no risk of a major tidal surge. The earthquake occurred Tuesday at 1 pm local 02 Tuesday (Monday 15 pm 02 to Paris). Its epicenter was located about 550 kilometers east of Auckland, at a depth of 90 kilometers. Read More
