Committee On Spatial, Land Use Planning Inaugurated

A 13-member National Technical Committee on Spatial and Land Use Planning was, yesterday, inaugurated in Accra. The Committee has been tasked to provide policy direction and inputs of strategic national interest to the preparation of the Spatial Development Framework and ensure consistency with the National Development Agenda. The committee is also expected to provide a framework for national adoption of the Regional Spatial Development Framework as well as its implementation. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Minister for the Environment, Science and Technology, Ms Sherry Ayittey noted that the haphazard use of land and spatial developments at all levels has stifled the progress and development of this country.
