New Challenges for the Rebuilding of the Electricity Supply

In recent years, nuclear energy was still touted as a necessary bridging technology towards a renewable period. After the disaster in Fukushima, the federal government is now planning the nuclear phase-out within the next 11 years. New  coal-and gas-fired power plants should instead be provided at the transition to a largely renewable power supply. Particularly, since the construction of new coal-fired power plants is not politically viable climate, we feared mistakes here. The challenges lie in other areas.
