Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) CanmetENERGY CO2 Research Facility (CanCO2), located in Ottawa, is an integrated and efficient pilot-scale CO2 capture facility. At the facility, pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and mercury are simultaneously removed, and CO2 is purified and compressed for transport, storage or use. The transportable, trailer-mounted, modular CanCO2 is well suited for field testing and pilot-scale demonstration projects. In fact, CanCO2 is capable of separating CO2emissions generated by oxy-fuel power plants, which burn fuel and pure oxygen, as well as other industrial sources. Read More
