Turkey to Build Airport on Artificial Black Sea Island

Turkey will construct an airport on an artificial island in the Black Sea, near the cities of Ordu and Giresun, the country’s Transport Minister Binali Yildirim has announced. A total of 20 million tons of soil and 9 million tons of rock will be poured into the sea to facilitate the creation of the artificial island. The future airport will have a 3 km-long runway and will cost USD 150 M, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency says. Read More
