Treaty Between Russia and Norway on the Delimitation of Maritime Spaces

Federal law provides for the ratification of the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Norway on the delimitation of maritime areas and cooperation in the Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean, signed in Murmansk on 15 September 2010. Contract concluded which lasted from 1970 the process of delimitation of the disputed sea area covering about 175,000 square kilometers. Article 1 of the Treaty established the line delimiting the maritime spaces, which divides the entire disputed area for approximately two equal parts. Treaty establishes conditions for cooperation in fisheries, providing for the preservation mechanism of joint regulation of fisheries in the Barents Sea.
