Ticket Price Cuts Boosts Fyra High-speed Train Service

Use of the high-speed train Fyra between Amsterdam and Rotterdam has more than doubled since the supplementary fee has been slashed, according to NS figures. In the last quarter of 2010, 215,000 people used the train, but that rose to 550,000 in the first three months of 2010. In January, the supplement was scrapped altogether and in February and March it was cut from €6 to €2.10.
