L’MONDE FRANCE – Paris Habitat-OPH, the first European public office lessor with a fleet of 120,000 homes, is investigating the source of energy for a novel of its buildings in Paris. Drawing heat from the basement to cool the buildings on the surface, the technique is not yet widespread, but it is known: the principle of geothermal energy. However, it is a different track explored in Paris Habitat-OPH, like other operators and communities. It consists, in addition to renewable energy, using part of the colossal amount of heat that escapes from underground subway networks by man.
