Smart City Malta Planning Applications

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) would like to clarify that it is currently processing two applications related to the Smart City project. Planning application PA5757/09 for the proposed construction of a retail block 3 is in its final stages of consideration. This application although submitted in 2009 was held back at the request of the applicant and by the National commission for persons with a Disability. Additionally in September 2011, the Authority also started processing a pre-screening submission made by Smart City Malta for the construction of an underground storm-water reservoir. Previous applications related to this project have been dealt with by MEPA within the agreed timeframes.
