Safe Software, makers of FME, the leading spatial data transformation technology, today announced the release of the FME 2013 Service Pack 1 (SP1) that includes the latest fixes and updates for FME Desktop and FME Server, but also impressive new capabilities. Adding to the story of the latest version of FME, SP1 introduces functionality that enables users to efficiently achieve more with their data through support for a broader range of formats, applications, and protocols; as well as improved usability.
Enhanced Support for Non-Spatial Data
SP1 facilitates enhanced manipulations with non-spatial data that will allow users to more efficiently process business intelligence with FME as well as execute some new functions. Examples include new conditional attribute mapping capabilities, enhanced statistical operations such as support for histograms, and convenient new string functions like trimming and padding.
With SP1, Safe Software now recommends the FME Data Inspector in lieu of the FME Universal Viewer as the default data inspection tool. Specifically for non-spatial, the FME Data Inspector includes additional new features including table views that enable faster browsing of records, sorting by column, the ability to search table contents, and improved data filtering.

Updated Support for Common Applications
Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 – 2012
Featured in SP1 is read support for Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D versions up to and including 2012. This enables AutoCAD Civil 3D designs created in the more recent versions to be shared for use in other applications.
Google Fusion Tables OAuth
To keep FME up-to-date with changes to third party applications, SP1 includes support for Google Fusion Tables’ movement from the OAuth 1.x to the OAuth 2.x open standard authorization protocol.
Twitter 1.1 API
SP1 includes updates that enable use of the Twitter version 1.1 API.
Support for New GPS Formats
SP1 includes support for 6 additional GPS formats allowing users access to these highly informative datasets for use within their preferred applications. The new formats are: Delorme GPL, Garmin GDB, Garmin MPS, Garmin POI, TomTom POI, and NMEA 0183.
More Data Sharing Options for FME Server
SP1 for FME Server 2013 has support for more data delivery and notification protocols to suit the needs of different users and further enhance automated data sharing. Added capabilities include SASL encryption support for Active Directory connections, the ability to push notifications to Amazon SNS, and other new functions designed to enable seamless movement of data throughout an organization.
