Recycling Waste Water to Prevent a Water Crisis in Jordan

In order to fight water scarcity, NGOs and two German universities teamed up to implement new strategies on how to make better use of waste water. Currently less than ten percent of the water in Jordan is being recycled. As Jordan grows, the country is in need of more water. The population and economy are on the up, and that means households, industry and agriculture are all beginning to grow thirsty. But the country’s groundwater reserves are expected to hold out for just three more centuries.
