Statoil has announced that the major oil find in the North Sea made public 10 days ago, is much larger than first estimated. It is probably the largest offshore discovery in the world this year. Statoil says that communication between the Aldous and Avaldsnes oil discoveries in the North Sea has now been confirmed.
