NOAA Awards Dewberry $49-million Coastal Geospatial Services Contract

  • Rating12345

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that it has been awarded its fourth consecutive, five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) coastal geospatial services contract (CGSC) by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management (OCM) to provide a variety of technical geospatial services.

As part of the shared-ceiling $49-million contract, Dewberry will provide technical expertise in lidar and imagery data acquisition, high-resolution topographic/bathymetric product generation, thematic mapping, survey and control services, geospatial services, and geospatial training to support state, local, and regional coastal resource management needs.

The firm was selected in part for its ability to provide professional services for all U.S. coastal areas, including the Great Lakes states and island territorial jurisdictions. For more than 15 years, Dewberry has provided OCM with geospatial data, training, tools, and technology in support of their mission to collaborate with and assist the coastal management community. A key component of OCM’s mission includes the establishment and continuing enhancement of NOAA’s Digital Coast platform, which allows public access to data and information produced under the CGSC program.

“NOAA’s OCM provides critical services to help communities address the impacts of coastal development, sea level rise, natural disasters, and other coastal and ocean concerns,” says Dewberry Associate Vice President and Senior Program Manager Mark Safran, CP, GISP. “Our team is excited to have once again been selected by OCM to help advance ocean planning and enable content for Digital Coast.”

Dewberry Senior Vice President Amar Nayegandhi, CP, CMS, GISP, adds, “Dewberry offers a unique blend of industry-leading professionals who have authored many standards and specifications used today, with deep knowledge and experience in geospatial technologies. With our recent investment in data acquisition technologies, including the Riegl VQ-1560 II-S airborne topographic lidar sensor and the CZMIL SuperNova topobathymetric lidar sensor, we are looking forward to providing trusted products and services to meet the needs of NOAA OCM and its partners.”
