What is unique about travelling to congresses is having exclusive tours of local facilities. These on-site visits also give you a chance to do in-depth networking with like-minded professionals. There are four tours available for Friday 21 September.

1. Busan is set to build a new seawater desalination plant with a 16-inch reverse osmosis membrane. Also visit the Busan Hygienic laboratories.

2. Visit three of sewage and sanitary wastewater plants, and a cogeneration plant which uses recycled methane gas.

3. See Busan city’s main water treatment plant, then see Haman Weir’s observatory and ecological park.

4. See an innovative landfill and leachate-disposal site, tour a refuse-derived fuel and renewable energy plant, then Nakdong Estuary’s Eco-centre.
