Italian Region of Veneto to Implement Phase Two of its Centralized SDI

  • Rating12345

The Region of Veneto in Italy has completed the first phase of its spatial infrastructure built on Intergraph® spatial data infrastructure (SDI) technology and will now implement phase two of the project. The SDI project will improve access to spatial data across the region for streamlined operations and enhanced collaboration. The first phase focused on the design and set-up of the technological infrastructure to store, catalogue and search for spatial data, as well as a Web application to easily access and visualize the data. The central common infrastructure has now been created, as well as foundation tools and rules for sharing spatial information easily and in accordance with industry standards.Given the scale and cutting-edge nature of the project, its implementation is delivered in stages to ensure constant monitoring of progress and control, particularly during key phases.  Realisation of the second phase will deliver capabilities that enable Veneto’s SDI to operate as a regional node both within Italy’s national SDI as well as international infrastructures.
