REGISTER HERALD – A committee charged with researching a future funding stream for the county’s geographic information system recently proposed to Preble County Commissioners a $1 increase in property conveyance fees, effective January 1. Representatives of several agencies who utilize GIS widely in their operations met with commissioners to discuss the need for the system, and the need for additional funding to maintain it. Chaired by PC Engineer Steve Simmons, the committee began by sharing information regarding their usage of the system, and why it is needed.
