Effective Deployment of Pan-European Mobile Satellite Services

 The European Commission today adopted a decision that will allow it to coordinate the initiatives of EU Member States to accelerate the commercial deployment of mobile satellite services (MSS) pan, and, if necessary to adopt appropriate enforcement action. The mobile satellite services use radio spectrum to deliver for all Europeans communication services such as Internet access, mobile radio and multimedia mobile services or emergency calls, regardless of the remoteness of the area where they live. The Commission took this decision to the expiration of two years was awarded to two operators, Inmarsat Ventures Limited and Solaris Mobile Limited, to deploy systems for mobile satellite services across Europe.
