Defra Unclear About Savings from GIS, says auditor

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has been unable to identify the full financial benefits of its £39.3m investment in a geographic information strategy, according to a new National Audit Office report. It says the department has been able to estimate savings of £9.1m, and that while this is likely to be an under-estimate it is unable to produce a more accurate figure.
