China Set to Launch Ninth Beidou Navigation Satellite

China is preparing to launch its ninth “Beidou” or Compass navigation satellite in the coming days, an official media report said on Monday. The satellite will be launched as part of China’s indigenous satellite-navigation set-up. A Long March-3A carrier rocket will launch the “Beidou” from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, a spokesperson in the launch centre was quoted as saying by the official Xinuha news agency.
