Bad Roads, Transportation Blamed for Haiti’s Slow Recovery

Haiti currently has a cluster of problems as it struggles to recover from a devastating earthquake a year ago, and bad roads and transportation are partly to blame, a UN official said. In addition to the 7.3-magnitude tremor that left more than 300,000 people dead and more than one million others homeless, there is an ongoing cholera epidemic which already killed more than 3,000 people in this impoverished Caribbean island nation.
