 Using Geographic Information System (GIS) nowadays has been significant and relevant considering how the world has become so technology-oriented, and its impact on development planning necessary. Thus said City Mayor Maloney Samaco in his welcome remarks yesterday during the conduct of the first-ever GIS celebration held at the city gym here that carried the theme “GIS for effective planning.” Samaco used as example the experience of the city, saying that the influx of economic activities now sprouting was not anticipated, suggesting a need for GIS so prospective investors can be guided on which prime location within city limits they can invest.
