AeroGRID has signed a data distribution license with FÖMI, the Hungarian national mapping agency to become an agent for FÖMI’s national aerial imagery for the whole of Hungary. AeroGRID now boasts the most extensive library of aerial imagery of Europe. In 2011 AeroGRID has worked hard to expand its data portfolio in order to deliver on the promise of being a one-stop-shop for aerial imagery. In this year alone AeroGRID has added Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Hungary.
“This agreement will result in the more widespread use of Hungarian orthophotos throughout Europe,” said Bence Toronyi, FÖMI Director General.
“By working closely with national mapping agencies AeroGRID has built up extensive and continuous coverage of Western Europe and Scandinavia, and is now extending its reach into Central Europe,” said General Manager, Miles Taylor. “We feel sure that now we have the Czech Republic and Hungary on board, we will soon be seeing further agreements for this dynamic area of Europe,” continued Taylor.
