Saudi plan to Earn Carbon Credits on World Market

NATIONAL UAE – Saudi Arabia has outlined plans for its first attempt to earn credits on the international carbon market, after similar efforts by the UAE and Qatar. The project at a landfill site outside of Medina would generate slightly more than €2 million (Dh9.3m) a year at current carbon prices by keeping emissions of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, out of the atmosphere, documents submitted to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change show.
