Intermap Technologies Wins Excellence Award

  • Rating12345

Intermap Technologies Corp. has been awarded top honors in the Photogrammetry / Elevation Data Generation category at the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) Geospatial Products and Services Excellence Awards ceremony, held on July 16 in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire.

Intermap’s “Torino 2006 IFSAR Mapping Project” was conducted on behalf of the Italian mapping agency Istituto Geografico Militare (IGM) using the Company’s proprietary Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (IFSAR) digital mapping technology. The project covered 5,600 square kilometers of northwestern Italy’s most varied terrain, including the three most challenging environments to model: high alpine, lowland floodplain, and urban. The extreme differences in elevation – from mountain areas in the Alps to deeply incised river valleys – provided a serious test of the integrity of the radar processing systems. The acquisition geometry stressed the algorithms beyond their normal application, and the processing workflow proved to be extremely complex.
