Ancient Beech Forests as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

BMU – The International Conservation Union (IUCN) will from today until 15 September review five UNESCO World Heritage Site nominated beech forests in Germany and visit and thoroughly check them. Thus begins a crucial stage for the current German World Heritage application. In January of this year, Germany has the outstanding record of ancient beech forests in the prestigious World Heritage List of UNESCO requested.
