ICT in Conflict & Disaster Response and Peacebuilding Crowdmap

  • Rating12345

ICT is being used in many ways to help with disaster & conflict early-warning, management & resolution and for peacebuilding; this map offers a resource of who is doing what worldwide. It captures the large variety of activities carried out in projects, programmes and initiatives at various levels of society and decision-making; their content ranges from policy frameworks to actual technological solutions. The map illustrates the role of civil society organisations, states, multilateral organisations, academia and companies in the field, the difference ICT can make and the impact it can have.

The ICT in Conflict & Disaster Response and Peacebuilding Crowd Map was produced by freelance GIS expert Christine Broenner and Laura Morris, an independent researcher in crisis communication, to provide a resource that aims at encouraging and supporting networking and collaboration for the sharing of information, ideas & best practice to help those affected by conflict and crisis effectively. This map is by no means exhaustive – if you would like to add your product / organisation / project / initiative or know of an additional resource, please submit the information by using the online form on the site or sending details to [email protected]. For any suggestions, comments or adjustments you can contact Christine or Laura at the same email address.
