USGIF Opens 2016 Awards Program

  • Rating12345

Herndon, Virginia, Feb. 10 2016 —The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is now accepting nominations for its 2016 Awards Program.

The USGIF Awards Program annually recognizes the exceptional work of the global geospatial intelligence tradecraft’s brightest minds and most innovative organizations. The program acknowledges outstanding GEOINT achievements by individuals or teams in five categories: academia, community support, government, industry, and military.

Any individual, team, or organization engaged in traditional GEOINT and ISR or a related field such as social media, open source data, Big Data, the Internet of Things, data science, mobile, virtual and augmented reality, and more is encouraged to apply.

“The USGIF Awards nomination period is a time to give thanks, to celebrate, and to recognize the hard work, dedication, and commitment to the mission of the GEOINT Community,” said Kevin Jackson, chair of the USGIF Awards Subcommittee. “Behind the latest and most innovative technologies, cutting-edge research, and exceptional delivery of programs and services are stories of individuals and teams doing exceptional things—they are your peers, colleagues, teammates, and partners. On behalf of the USGIF Awards Subcommittee, I challenge you to reflect on those accomplishments making a difference and take the time to submit a nomination.”

Nomination forms for each category can be downloaded via USGIF.org. Applications are due by March 18. The USGIF Awards Subcommittee will select recipients and awards will be presented on stage during the general session at the GEOINT 2016 Symposium, taking place May 15-18 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
