Ursula Benz will make a presentation on the topic “CloudEO – a new Geo-IT Platform – removing the entry barriers for commercial geo-services” as part of the plenary session “Global Geospatial Information”, which will be held on the first day (October 1, 2013) of the 6th International Conference “Earth from space – the Most effective Solutions”.
U. Benz start her career at the German Aerospace Center, which she joined in 1991, after defending her theses at the University of Hagen (Germany), and where she headed the research team in the development and modernization of radar systems.
Then she work in the Definiens company (2000-2007) and successfully advanced through the ranks to the position of a vice-president. In this role Ursula was responsible for global business development of the company, focusing primarily on the promotion of new solutions in the field of geospatial information and remote sensing onto the global market.
No less significant contribution Ursula Benz has made in the business development of the GEOSYSTEMS company (2007-2012) in the direction of creating a complete process flow of geospatial data handling – from receiving and processing the signal to the delivery of end product to the end user through web-service.
More than 20 years of experience of U. Benz includes the implementation of a dozen of large-scale projects in Earth observation from space all over the world: in Europe, USA and Japan.
Today Ursula Benz continues to focus on the development of the market of geo-based technologies as commercial director of the CloudEO project , supported by “Dauria Aerospace” and aimed at improving the efficiency of geospatial data by bringing together everyone, who creates, interprets and uses them.
The 6th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” will take place on October 1-3, 2013 at the Moscow Region “Vatutinki” resort hotel. Key topics of the conference are: nature protection and access to space images and near real-time satellite-based monitoring services from civil society in Russia and abroad.
